Ventuz Technology, a participant in the NewTek Developer Network, has integrated NewTek NDI into their latest release of state-of-the-art real-time 3D graphics suite Ventuz 5. The integration that provides for IP workflow with standard Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure tops its list of new features on the product page for version 5.01. Ventuz 5 can now receive NDI video sources as input for layering with graphics and other video. In addition, Ventuz 5 output can be received as an input by other NDI-enabled media production systems and applications, including NewTek TriCaster.
The large array of workflow possibilities provided by NewTek NDI is such that Ventuz Technology has put together a white paper on the integration, available for download on their product page. The white paper details how IP workflow changes the general paradigm for video production away from previously required expensive cabling and signal conversion and handling equipment to making use of existing network infrastructure instead. This provides considerable cost savings in specialized video equipment and personnel. Several detailed use case scenarios are described and diagrammed for prospective users in the white paper, as well.
The company has also released a video tutorial showing how NDI adds to their existing workflows and to interoperation with other applications and tools.
